I loved it growing up

It’s fun. The environment is super comfortable and spirited. It brought me out of my shell as a kid. I went for 8 years.

Home away from home

Camp Wahnee is truly a home away from home. My kids talk about camp all year long and count down the days until they can go back. The directors and staff are incredibly warm and caring, and they do an amazing job teaching kindness, friendship, respect, and values that stay with the kids long after summer ends. The activities are outstanding, and there is something for everyone. One of the greatest testaments to Camp Wahnee is that campers come back year after year, many become counselors, and former campers grow up to send their own children. We couldn’t recommend Camp Wahnee more highly!

The Absolute Best!!

We have both a son and a daughter who started at Camp Wah-Nee going into 3rd grade, and watching them grow there has been one of the greatest joys of parenthood. We also have a younger son who counts down the years until he's old enough to go because he's seen first hand what Wah-Nee means to his siblings. The truth is, Wah-Nee has a kind of magic that's almost impossible to describe. From the moment you walk through the gates, you can feel it. It's not just a camp...it's a family. What stands out most is the culture. The older campers don't simply coexist with the younger ones - they become their role models, mentors, and older brothers and sisters. They know their names, cheer them on, and make them feel like they belong. It's something that's woven into the fabric of camp, and it's incredible to watch. Then there are the counselors and staff. So many of them are former campers who choose to come back year after year, through high school, college and beyond. That says everything. They aren't returning because it's just a summer job, they're returning because Wah-Nee helped shape who they are, and they want to give that same experience to the next generation. That's something you don't find at most camps. Our kids have many friends who attend other, in many cases larger camps, and they all have incredible summers. But there's a difference. Those camps may have more campers or bigger facilities, but they don't have the same feeling. They don't have the family culture that makes every child feel seen, valued, and loved and it's just missing this magic. For our children, Wah-Nee isn't just where they spend seven weeks every summer. It's their happy place. It's where they laugh until their stomachs hurt, gain confidence, build lifelong friendships, and become the very best versions of themselves. It's their summer home. As parents, there is nothing more meaningful than knowing your children are surrounded by people who love them, believe in them, and help them grow. That's what Wah-Nee has given our family. If your family becomes part of Wah-Nee, you'll understand why so many campers never really leave. They simply spend the rest of the year counting down the days until they can head back to their summer home.

The best place on earth

There are very few places in the world that feel like a true happy place, and for our family, this camp is one of them. It is my happy place, and over the years it has become my children's happy place as well. Every summer they return home happier, more confident, more independent, and already counting down the days until they can go back. One of the things I appreciate most is that this camp celebrates children for exactly who they are. I have both a son and a daughter with very different personalities, interests, and strengths, yet each of them has found their place here. They are encouraged to pursue what they love, try new things, and become the best versions of themselves. The staff sees each child as an individual and helps build them up for who they are and what they have to offer. The amount of love, care, and intentionality that exists within this community is remarkable. Camp manages to teach children how to be kind, responsible, respectful, and supportive friends while making every day feel magical and fun. The values and lessons they learn here extend far beyond the summer and become part of who they are throughout the year. On top of all of that, the facilities and campgrounds are truly exceptional. The grounds are beautiful, the activities are first class, and the camp is incredibly well staffed with caring and dedicated counselors and leaders. There is a reason families return year after year. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community and cannot imagine our summers anywhere else.

Wahnee is magical

There is something about the spirit of Wahnee that is truly magical. We currently have two daughters at camp, and our third can’t wait to join them next summer. It has become their favorite place in the world. They begin counting down to the next summer the moment they come home. What makes Wahnee so special goes far beyond the activities. It’s the feeling you get the minute you arrive. There is a genuine sense of belonging, kindness, and acceptance that is hard to put into words. Every camper is encouraged to be exactly who they are, and every child finds a place where they feel valued. One of the things that speaks volumes about Wahnee is the incredible loyalty. Counselors (who started as campers) return year after year through high school, throughout college, and many even after they graduate. That kind of dedication says everything about the community they have built. The counselors aren’t just supervising campersβ€”they are role models, mentors, and some of the most influential people in our children’s lives. The traditions, songs, cheers, and shared experiences create memories that last far beyond the summer. The friendships formed at Wahnee are genuine and enduring, and the confidence, independence, and resilience our daughters bring home each year are gifts that stay with them long after camp ends. As parents, there is no greater feeling than knowing your children are somewhere they feel completely safe, deeply loved, and excited to wake up every morning. Wahnee has become more than just a summer camp for our familyβ€”it is a second home and a place that has shaped who our daughters are becoming. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a special community.

Our daughter's happy place!!!

Wah-Nee gives true meaning to "10 for 2" because that is now how my daughter lives and breathes!!! I went to a different camp as a kid myself that I absolutely loved, but Wah-Nee is truly very special and the magic here is real! My daughter went for her first summer last year going into 3rd grade, and while I was very nervous with how young she was, Wah-Nee exceeded every expectation I had and not only made my daughter feel at home, but truly gave her a summer home for life. Ever since she came home last August she counted down until the day she could go back. She made lifelong friendships with her favorite people on earth and has embraced every aspect Wah-Nee has to offer. What sets Wah-Nee apart from other camps is its values, the indivualized attention and love each camper gets, and because it's a smaller camp how close everyone gets throughout the entire camp (doesn't need to be someone in the same age group or bunk!). We couldn't believe on visiting day last year when all of these older girls were coming up to our daughter and giving her hugs and clearly knew her well. Everyone at Wah-Nee has so much spirit and there is just so much happiness in the air, it's hard to even put into words, but it's just a magical place! We couldn't be happier here and I can't wait until my younger daughter can go herself.

Our daughters happy place

As a parent, I can’t say enough about Wah-Nee. It’s so much more than a summer camp - it’s a place where every child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves. It truly feels like a second home, where everyone knows your name. Campers are surrounded by counselors and staff who genuinely love being there and cheer them on every step of the way. They try new things, build confidence, form lifelong friendships, and discover strengths they never knew they had. The spirit and energy are unlike anything I’ve experienced. What says it best is that our kids spend the other 10 months of the year counting down until they can return. They absolutely adore Wah-Nee. One of my daughters even jokes that she wants to run Girls Camp one day because she loves it so much. It’s hard to put into words what makes Wah-Nee so special - you really have to experience it. But if you’re looking for a place where children are known, supported, uchallenged, and loved, this is it. We feel incredibly grateful that our daughters get to call Wah-Nee their summer home.
