A very special place
Canp Wayne is truly special. They have tradition, kindness, love and comrodare. It’s built on what they've done for the past 100 years and it works. There is a balance between sports, crafts, dance and cheer and fun. The owners are very involved and the campers are real. No one “keeps up with the Jones's” and the girls are there to have fun. What I love: - no packages allowed unless you need something (ex: more socks, shampoo etc…) - canteen only 2x a week- they team balance - no one is fancy, you can wear Target or something from Denny’s- no one cares - they see the boys a few times a week. So they have separation and togetherness - there is no air in the bunks. That breeds a different type of girl What I think is needed: - ceiling fans in the bunks - better social media and a photographer. However I do not want one for each division, it isn’t that kind of canp - air conditioning in one large space so the girls can grt relief when needed. Ideally the dining hall Overall, this is the most incredible camp and I’m grateful to have my daughter here. .
