Camps Baco (boys) and Che-Na-Wah (girls) are family-run brother/sister overnight camps sharing a property on Balfour Lake in Minerva, New York, in the Adirondacks — Che-Na-Wah founded in 1923 and Baco in 1951, and directed for generations by the Wortman family. Campers entering 2nd through 11th grade enjoy a full seven-week summer of athletics, waterfront, arts, and brother/sister traditions.

Camp Baco has been part of our family going back to 3 generations. While the camp can use a little facelift, it is the true definition of camp. My son was a camper for 9’years and a counselor for 3. He made a great group of friends that he is still close with today. It’s the band of brothers.
