About The Putney School Summer Arts
The Putney School Summer Arts (also known as The Putney School Summer Program) is a residential creative arts program for teens on The Putney School's hilltop working-farm campus in Putney, Vermont. Running since 1988, students ages 14-17 choose two disciplines across visual arts, music, theater, dance, creative writing, film, farm, and culinary workshops. Rooted in the school's progressive-education tradition, it emphasizes process and community over grades and competition, with rustic dorm living and a share in campus and farm life.
