Founded in 1902, Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring, New York, is the oldest Jewish overnight camp in the United States. This nonprofit coed camp serves campers roughly ages 7–15 with swimming, boating, hiking, arts, and joyful, inclusive Jewish life featuring kosher food and Shabbat celebrations. A sliding fee scale keeps tuition affordable, with half-summer and full-summer sessions plus short intro programs for first-timers.
