About Tranquillity Camp

Founded in 1919, Tranquillity Camp is an independent nonprofit Jewish overnight camp on 1,200 acres in Earlton, New York, in the Catskill foothills, serving about 275 coed campers ages 7–15. Campers choose a full 7-week summer or a 4- or 3-week session, with traditional programming spanning sports, arts, theater, and nature, plus camper-led Friday night Shabbat services. As a not-for-profit with kosher dining, tuition is notably affordable and financial assistance is available.

Wholesome and stress free summer

It’s a back to basics camp. There are no screens or electronics. Children find part of themselves that they could never find before in this overstimulated, busy world. That doesn’t mean it’s boring. There are a number of camp traditions which campers enjoy and come back for year after year. There are jewish values driving the camp, but you don’t have to be jewish to attend. Campers get a chance to perform, try out for plays, watch movies, swim, etc. There is a very active alumni community. The food is good.
